SERVPRO of Morris/Ottawa enjoys the fall weather and we hope you do too. Below are some tips on to stay fire free during the fall season.
The fall season brings beautiful colors, cooler temperatures and many outdoor activities. Follow these simple tips to help stay fire free this fall.
-Fall decorations like cornstalks are highly flammable. Keep these and other decorations away from open flames and heating sources, including light bulbs.
- Keep emergency exits free of decorations so nothing blocks escape routes.
- Teach children to stay away from open flames
- Remember safely first when choosing a Halloween costume. Chose a costume made out of material that will not easily ignite it is comes into contact with heat or flames.
- Place pumpkins lit with candles away from anything that can burn and out of the way of doorsteps, walkways and porches. It is safer to use battery operated candles to lite pumpkins.
